The TRACE-GAS FID analyzers have been developed for the detection of total hydrocarbon concentration in exhaust gases. The measuring principle of flame ionization detection is based on the ionization of organically bound carbon atoms in a hydrogen flame.
Depending on the version (FIDmono/FIDdual), the analyzer allows continuous monitoring of the total hydrocarbon and methane concentration in the sample gas. The combination of the two measured values in the FIDdual also offers the possibility of determining the proportion of non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC). The analyzers are very robust and have a very high sensitivity and linearity.
